Renowned scientist and Health Canada Whistleblower, Dr Shiv Chopra, will talk on the decisions, the dilemmas, the moral and ethical predicaments that Government regulators have balancing drug company designs and public safety implications.
Dr Chopra worked for Health Canada for 35 years recommending and approving food and drugs into the Health system.
However when he and his colleagues, Dr. Margaret Haydon and Dr. Gerard Lambert, refused to approve poorly tested drugs in meat and milk production into the food chain without the evidence of safety required he lost his job.
Dr Chopra will speak on the dangerous effects of hormones, antibiotics, slaughterhouse waste, genetically modified organisms (GMO’s) and pesticides in our food chain.
Due to Dr. Chopra’s work, Bovine Growth Hormone was barred in Canada in 1999 and in the EU. He is the author of numerous publications on science, society and religion.
His academic qualifications include graduation in veterinary medicine and M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Microbiology. He is the recipient of numerous academic awards, including a Fellowship of the World Health Organization.
