                             Health Freedom NZ Action Alert

Hi [FIRSTNAME],

We need your help again! Our success in campaigns depends heavily on our members writing letters, your efforts and assistance is crucial and every letter makes a difference!

The Otago Daily Times recently attacked Olive McRae, an active anti-fluoride campaigner in Dunedin, for warning mothers not to use fluoridated water when preparing infant formula.
THIS IS SOMETHING THAT THE US GOVERNMENT’S CENTRE FOR DISEASE CONTROL (CDC) AND AMERICAN DENTAL ASSOCIATION (ADA) HAVE ISSUED THE SAME WARNINGS FOR!
But NZ officials are slow to respond and quick to discredit these warnings. The Otago Daily Times Report is copied below. Here is a link to the FANNZ website detailing the warnings:
http://www.fannz.org.nz/warning-dontusetapwaterforbabies.php
It contains information that has come from the American Dental Association and the US Public Health Service’s Centers for Disease Control, plus an outline of the responses they (and the Hutt Council) have received from the Ministry of Health, and finally their rebuttal to these responses in the Otago Daily Times article.

ACTION STEP:  We would like you to come out in support of Olive McRae’s efforts by writing to the Editor of the Otago Daily Times, email chris.morris@odt.co.nz.
There are sample letters from us below for you to follow. Rules for submitting letters to editors are on our website at:  http://www.healthfreedom.co.nz/images/hfnz_pdf/editorsletter.pdf

Dear Sir,
More Harm Than Good
When Public Health officer John Holmes goes on record claiming that there are no risks associated with using fluoridated water in preparing baby formula, he damages both his own and his departments reputation.
When two bastions of medical conservatism, the American Dental Association and the Centre for Disease Control finally admit there are risks and issue warnings that the entire world can view on YOUTUBE, it is high time that our own Ministry of Health ‘got with the programme’.
This is the same department that was the last IN THE WORLD to ban the pesticide 245T which was linked to the deformation many NZ babies. There has never been an enquiry to establish whether that was due to incompetence or corruption. Mr Holmes and his colleagues can rest assured that the mothers of Dunedin have enough intelligence and concern for their babies to dig a little deeper before placing their trust in a department that chose to side with the manufacturers of 245T instead of with the mothers of all those injured babies.

Dear Sir,
International Fluoride Warnings
The official you quoted state using fluoridated water in preparing baby formula is not harmful. This statement is against scientific proof. In 2006 the US Government’s Centre for Disease Control (CDC) and American Dental Association (ADA) issued the same warnings as Olive McRae. Her comments are far from “misleading and untrue” when the trusted source of the ADA and CDC issue the same warnings. Do our public health officials seriously expect us to believe them, when the rest of the world is turning away from the dangerous practice of fluoridation? In light of the recent scientific evidence it doesn’t take much to see that fluoridation causes more harm than good. Does New Zealand want to be behind the times yet again? Or do we want to be following the guidelines of good research?
