Health Freedom NZ Newsletter Action Alert

Hi [FIRSTNAME],

Please find a link to our press release in response to Inside New Zealand’s program titled “Are Vitamins Killing You”.

http://www.healthfreedom.co.nz/component/acajoom/mailing/view/listid-5/mailingid-51/Itemid-999.html

I would like to thank all of our members who helped contribute to the release by sending us information, studies and angles for the release. I think we did the job at getting across the main points. There were so many holes in the program we could have said a lot more.

Thank you also to those of you who have already written letters to the Broadcasting Standards Authority and complained as well as those of you who have posted comment’s on TV3’s website.

We will be sending in our complaint and encourage those of you who have not done so yet to do so.

Broadcasting Standards Authority
Here are the details on how to make a complaint:
http://www.bsa.govt.nz/complaints-intro.php.

This is the checklist you need to follow:
http://www.bsa.govt.nz/complaints-checklist.php

And here is the code of practice Broadcasters must follow:
http://www.bsa.govt.nz/codesstandards-freetv.php

We believe the program has breached those standards under the following categories:

Standard 4 Controversial Issues – Viewpoints
When discussing controversial issues of public importance in news, current affairs or factual programmes, broadcasters should make reasonable efforts, or give reasonable opportunities, to present significant points of view either in the same programme or in other programmes within the period of current interest.

Standard 5 Accuracy
Broadcasters should make reasonable efforts to ensure that news, current affairs and factual programming:
•    is accurate in relation to all material points of fact and/or
•    does not mislead.

Standard 8 Responsible Programming
Broadcasters should ensure programmes
•    are not presented in such a way as to cause panic, or unwarranted alarm or undue distress; and
•    do not deceive or disadvantage the viewer.
