We will have breaking news coming up in a follow up email but for now, I have to apologise for taking so long to get back to you with our template for making a response to the current consultation paper. The document is tricky, so our response needs to be right. We are days away, and that which we provide will give you plenty of time to write your responses and get it in before the deadline of 17th of May.

We have set-up a private members area on our website for you to logon and download the details, as well as participate in the forum to help with your responses if you require clarification. We need to stress that this is not a Bill. It is a consultation paper for the development of a Natural Health Products Bill. This Paper is not the work of the MP’s who have their names on the cover note. The system works that bureaucrats get a brief from elected officials who then draft a document to give back to them for discussion.

The principals the bureaucrats were given to draft the document were for the most part good. But what the officials have come back with is contradictory to those principles in certain key places. So we must let Government know what we think, as requested. At this stage it is not necessary to contact MP’s directly as the correct procedure is to write your response and send it in to the MoH. We do suggest that you send a copy of your submission to your local MP with a cover letter to let them know and begin to inform them.

On a positive note we have had donations coming in, and in generous amounts thank you. We would like to raise another $5,000 to be able to launch a campaign. Ideally we’d like everyone on a $10-$20 a month donation so we can have enough to advertise. It seems strange that we the consumer need to pay money to protect our right to choose how we heal ourselves, but that is the system we are dealing with for now.
