GSK withholds data causing children to self-harm

The UK government spend four years and compiled over one million pages of evidence in pursuit of a criminal prosecution against Glaxo Smith Kline for withholding clinical trials which showed their anti-depressant drug caused children to self harm.

GSK avoided the charges on a legal technicality. This story has received much press both at the time and since. In this Radio NZ interview, Katherine Ryan discusses the topic with a British observer. You can read about how the MHRA (Britain's medical watchdog) were criticised for not taking a criminal prosecution.

The following video produced by the BBCs Panorama programme is an excellent expose of what happened.
